LANSING, MI — Today, the Michigan AFL-CIO, the state’s largest labor federation representing over 1 million union members and their families, unanimously endorsed Chief Justice Megan K. Cavanagh and Justice Noah P. Hood for re-election to the Michigan Supreme Court.
“Organized labor — and working people at-large — are facing unprecedented attacks, including from the halls of power. The importance of having justices on the Supreme Court who respect the dignity of working people cannot be overstated,” said Ron BIEBER, president of the Michigan AFL-CIO. “We look forward to helping re-elect Chief Justice Cavanagh and Justice Hood to make sure working people are protected and respected under the law.”
“The past year has shown us how necessary the courts are to protect the interests of working people,” continued BIEBER. “We need a Michigan Supreme Court that recognizes the state exists to serve working people, not billionaires and politicians who abuse their power. That is why we are making these endorsements, and why we will fight like hell to make sure Chief Justice Cavanagh and Justice Hood are re-elected.”
