Michigan AFL-CIO Announces New Congressional Endorsements
LANSING, Mich. – Today, the Michigan AFL-CIO announced endorsements in a number of congressional races. The Michigan AFL-CIO is backing incumbents Hillary Scholten in District 3, Debbie Dingell in District 6, and Haley Stevens in District 11. Today’s announcement follows earlier endorsements of Curtis Hertel and Kristen McDonald-Rivet.
“All of these candidates are proven allies of working people,” said Michigan AFL-CIO President Ron BIEBER. “Now more than ever, workers need fearless leaders to fight for us in Congress, to stand up to corporate greed, and protect our fundamental rights in the workplace. Our endorsement comes with the support of Michigan’s largest federation of labor unions and we will be pulling out all the stops to elect these candidates in November.”
The Michigan AFL-CIO, Michigan’s largest labor organization, is a federation representing forty different labor organizations, eighteen different central labor councils, and eight constituency groups representing over 1 million union members and their families.
