The Michigan AFL-CIO is a labor federation (a federation of labor unions) and Michigan’s largest labor organization. The Michigan AFL-CIO represents over forty different labor organizations, eighteen different central labor councils, and eight constituency groups, thereby representing over 1 million union members and their families. The Michigan AFL-CIO fights for working families through political, legislative, communications, and organizing work which is largely done through or in support of our affiliates. Currently, the Michigan AFL-CIO is focused on putting guardrails on AI, ensuring the presentation of stalled bills, protecting the existence of unions, and protecting workers from Trump’s attacks on the working class.
