Health and safety

Health and Safety FlyerWe are pleased to announce that the Michigan State AFL-CIO H.R.D.I. has received a local union/small business grant for 2012/13 from the Michigan Department of Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA) to continue to provide free occupational safety awareness training for workers.  With the glaring spike in ergonomic injuries to health care workers, our efforts will focus, primarily, but not solely, on training employees in the health care industry.

This grant allows HRDI and your organization to collaborate to design and deliver this training completely free of charge, thus reducing injuries, lost time and workers compensation claims and providing a quality of care that will increase your bottom line.

We have been training workers through the MIOSHA grant program for the past twenty-six (26) years, and we are proud of the work we have done to help keep the Michigan workforce safe.  We provide all the training staff and material needed for this program, and there is no cost to any of our customers.

Health and Safety Director Derrick Quinney would love to discuss ways in which we can provide health and safety services that can benefit your organization and your employees.

To arrange a consultation to assess your health and safety training needs and determine how we can help to meet those needs, please contact Derrick Quinney or Patty Farhat at our office (517-487-5966) or you can email them at:  eisaguirre@miaflcio.org or pfarhat@miaflcio.org.

We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity.
